VOCARE Talks

Identity:
To ask the first, hard questions: "Who am I" and "Who says so," "What is important in life" and "What is the basis of our identity?"

What is a Christian?:
To show that there is a solid base to stand on, the base that the identity talk asks for, and the base is Jesus Christ. This talk answers the question of our own identity. It attemps to define what it means to be a Christian.

Response to Christ:
To tie the two previous talks together and answer the question that arises from them, specifically, "How am I going to respond to Christ?" Of all the pieces that determine identity, what part does Christ play? Accepting Christ is more than accepting an idea; it means becoming a new person. Jesus Christ is a reality. We can react with indifference or enthusiasm. We accept through faith, and faith opens our hearts and minds.

Spiritual Journey:
Our walk with Christ is a journey. What helps us find our way on that journey? Who helps us find our way on that journey?

Vocation Marriage:

Community:
To show that we are not rugged individualists in our relationship with God, but have help in responding to Christ’s challenge in the Body of Christ, the community of Faithful Christian. Each person brings his/her own individual talents and gifts to the community, making up what is lacking in the individual.

To explain the activity of the Holy Spirit in out individual and community-based lives; to show that we are not sent back out into the world alone.

Tomorrow:
What does tomorrow hold? How can we take what VOCARE gives us and use it in the "real world" tomorrow?
